Birthday Parties and Websites

It’s been an amazing week since my 29th birthday weekend, and over a week later I feel like I’ve got my motivation to jump into the lifestyle I’ve been planning for the last few months to full charge.

Not that I haven’t been motivated in the past, the dream of going travelling for six months is easy to find the energy and get excited about, but on top of that my plan on generating a dynamic website network that generates me a few pennies on the side has been gathering dust. But a few weeks ago now I had already started form ideas of how I wanted to form my working life, and the key tool - My Eee PC 901 arrive last friday, just in time for my Birthday party on the Saturday where I went on to build one online web game while watching The Blues Brothers, and then as a small group we launched into the ground work for http://spider-jesus.com complete with videos.
It’ll take a little while for the material to hit the website and go live, but by the time the party was over we had videos, a story board, music picked out, feature plans, domains registered and the motivation to keep on going. If you consider the party in question was on a Monday, after the original birthday party ran into Sunday as well, the whole series of events was nothing short of Legendary.
I guess it’s hard to convey just what a force of Nature a group of friends with their Mojo in sync can be, armed with pads of paper, to-do lists to cross off, and a four step mantra:
Step One: Maintain Mojo
Step Two: Increase Mojo
Step Three: Enjoy
Step Four: Share The Mojo
Each of us had it written down in the front of our notebooks, and stuck too it, and from that we started out with a fun little project that could turn out to be a nice little corner of the web that gets added too over and over.
In the past http://person-in-a-box.com has been a fun website that has been added too from party to party - but again, is in need of some serious redevelopment so that’s also back on my radar and in the next few weeks I’ll be working on a common base using the Zend Framework that will let me bounce out websites for fun much more easily.
